4. How To Write A COSHH Assessment
A COSHH Assessment Template (such as the one produced by YourHS.space) should follow the layout of Safety Data sheets.
See the table in page 2 of this section. Most, but not all, of the COSHH Assessment can be filled in from the SDS, but it is important to translate the information in the SDS into language that can be understood but remains accurate. Some of the questions relate to how the product is used in the workplace and the frequency of use, information which cannot be found on the SDS.
The questions are as follows: Health and Safety data sheet acquired? Have alternatives been considered? If “Yes”, why choose this substance? What is the substance used for? Risk/hazard phrases from the Safety Data...
