3. In-house Inspections

There are many checks which do not require the attention of an external specialist and which can be carried out by the workforce.

Typically, these include: Daily/weekly checks of fire safety equipment (see Fire Safety Logbook) Daily checks of escape routes Water temperature testing First aid boxes (fully stocked and items in date) Daily/weekly checks of work equipment Daily/weekly checks of electrical equipment Daily/weekly checks of work vehicles Etc This should not be considered a definitive list, and your workplace and work activities may well include other elements which require recorded testing.

Check the H&S Building Inspection checklist for help with this. The frequency of all inspections is determined by the Risk Assessment process and any manufacturer’s recommendations.
