2. Trades covered by the CDM Regulations

OBVIOUSLY, the following are all included! CDM Regulations apply to all building and construction work, including new builds, demolition, refurbishment, extensions, repair and maintenance (although repair and maintenance can be a grey area –

see “Where there is confusion!” below). You can take it for granted and, indeed, have probably worked it out for yourself, that the activities of the following trades must comply with the CDM Regulations: Demolition Groundworks Hard landscaping Scaffolding Bricklaying Window and door installation Roofing Electrical Plumbing Heating Gas installation Flooring, including carpet laying Lift installation Internal fit out Plastering Painting and decorating Solar panel installation Build cleaning Etc – you get the picture Trades which are sometimes affected by the CDM Regs Interior design Soft landscaping Arboriculture Maintenance and repair...
