Fundamental Rules Every person who works on a construction site MUST have access to: Toilets Hot and cold water Washing facilities A rest area Changing facilities Somewhere suitable to eat These are the responsibility of the Principal Contractor or the single contractor.
Every person working on a construction site has the fundamental right to decent welfare facilities. Small Construction Projects If you are a single contractor building an extension to an existing property, or carrying out internal redecoration work, it is possible that you and your workers will be able to use the facilities in the property.
