8. Welfare Facilities
The Competent Person must ensure that the welfare facilities are sufficient to meet the needs of the workforce and that they are maintained in good order. The welfare facilities available may include any or all of the following: kitchen areas, toilets, showers, and rest areas. The Competent Person must ensure the welfare facilities are inspected daily.
There must be a daily cleaning schedule in place and a contract with an appropriate company for the regular removal of any clinical, health care or sanitary waste. Cleaning procedures should be recorded, and it is usual to display these records in the relevant area.
